New Delhi: 8 July 2025, Praja Shanti Party (PSP) president and Global Peace Ambassador Dr. K.A. Paul on Monday announced the induction of Andhra Pradesh Additional Superintendent of Police Theophilus Monty and international entrepreneur Venkatesh into the party during a press conference held at Andhra Bhawan, Delhi.
Monty, who resigned from service a day earlier after meeting the Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police, said he was inspired by the party’s commitment to inclusive governance. Venkatesh, introduced as a global business leader and advisor to governments, is expected to play a key role in PSP’s economic vision for the country.
Addressing the media, Dr. Paul raised concerns over the BJP’s internal appointments in Andhra Pradesh, pointing to the nomination of two upper-caste leaders to key party posts without internal elections. He said that such decisions contradict the BJP's public posture as a party representing backward classes.
"I am not against Brahmins. Some of my closest friends and advisors are Brahmins. But if you call yourself a BC party, then why were senior Telangana leaders like Bandi Sanjay, Dy. Home Minister M.P. Etela Rajender, and M.P. D. Arvind sidelined?” he said.
He also highlighted the absence of Muslim and Christian MPs among the BJP’s 240+ representatives in Parliament, questioning the party’s commitment to inclusive representation.
Dr. Paul commented on the shifting political ground in states like Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, noting that leaders across party lines—Jana Sena, BJP, Congress, and BRS—are dissatisfied with internal functioning and leadership choices. He said many of these individuals are now engaging with Praja Shanti Party, seeing it as a platform for genuine representation and reform.
The PSP chief flagged India’s growing debt and unemployment crisis as key issues. He criticised the current government for more than doubling national debt in a decade and said existing jobs are vanishing without new employment being created.
The party has proposed a development plan focused on decentralised industrial growth and job creation, particularly in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. PSP claims it is prepared to facilitate large-scale entrepreneurship and bring professionalism into governance. Therefore, more than 120 senior leaders like legendary leader and singer Gaddaranna, retired IAS chief secretaries Danamayya and D. Rosaiah, and ex-BJP MP and Karnataka DGP H.T. Sangliana have joined Praja Shanti Party from South Indian states.
Theophilus Monty, speaking after his induction, said the party’s mission aligned with his commitment to public service.
"Today, I came here not just as a government officer but as someone committed to serving the country. With 60% of the population being youth and unemployment widespread, we need honest leadership. I believe Praja Shanti Party and Chief Dr. K.A. Paul is the only leader that offers a genuine alternative,” he said.
Venkatesh said his decision to join PSP stemmed from the urgent need to address India’s economic challenges.
"India is facing a severe jobs crisis and growing inequality. I am here not for politics, but for policy and nation-building. Praja Shanti Party creates space for professionals like me to contribute meaningfully,” he said.
Dr. Paul reiterated that the party would prioritise leadership drawn from all castes and religions including backward classes, Dalits, minorities, and women, while also welcoming professionals and former public servants. The aim, he said, is to build a party rooted in public interest, not personality or caste.
The Praja Shanti Party is expected to field candidates across several constituencies in the upcoming general elections, positioning itself as an alternative to both national and regional parties that, according to its leadership, have failed to deliver on promises of inclusion and development.
