By Vinay Mishra Delhi: Under the #SwasthNariSashaktParivar Abhiyaan, on the auspicious occasion of Ashtami and as part of the ongoing Poshan Maah celebrations, Safdarjung Hospital organized a special distribution drive for children in the OPDs, wards, and the Child Development Centre (CDC).
Under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Bansal, Director, VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, children were gifted with makhana, fruits, and stationery kits to promote nutrition, health, and education. The initiative was also aligned with the hospital’s ongoing “No Plastic” campaign, encouraging eco-friendly practices among staff and the community.
In another key activity, the Department of Surgery organized a Breast Cancer Awareness and Screening Camp, which saw an overwhelming response from women. Around 50 females were screened and over 100 were sensitized and made aware about the importance of early detection and regular screening for breast cancer.
These combined initiatives reflect the hospital’s strong commitment to nutrition, wellness, preventive health, and sustainable practices, highlighting its holistic approach to both patient and community care.The programme was graced by Dr. R P Arora, AMS & Nodal Officer, and Dr. Raj Kumar Chejera, HOD Surgery under the banner of #SNSP Abhiyaan.
