Successful Blood Donation Drive "Operation Sindoor" Collects 85 Units at VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital

The Devayaa A Society for the welfare of women & Children in partnership with Safdarjung Hospital's Blood Bank successfully conducted "Operation Sindoor," a blood donation drive that collected 85 units of blood from generous donors. The initiative, held at Safdarjung Hospital, was inaugurated by Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare & Union Minister of State ( Independent Charge ) Ministry of Ayush , alongside Dr. Geetika Khanna, Principal of VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, and Dr. Manisha Joshi, Founder of Devayaa Society.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from hospital staff, security personnel, and community members, all coming together for this noble cause aimed at addressing blood supply shortages and helping patients in need.

Dr. Sandeep Bansal, Medical Superintendent of Safdarjung Hospital encouraged all the donors. All Additional Medical Superintendents, attended the drive to show their support. Dr. Mukul Singh, Head of Department of the Blood Bank, and Dr. Anjali, Unit In-charge, played crucial roles in organizing and ensuring the smooth operation of the donation process.

"We are immensely grateful to all donors who came forward to contribute to this lifesaving initiative," said Dr. Manisha Joshi. "Each donation can save up to three lives, making today's collection potentially beneficial for over 250 patients in need. The spirit of giving displayed by our donors is truly inspiring."

The hospital administration expressed their appreciation for the partnership with Devayaa Society and highlighted the importance of regular blood donation drives to maintain adequate supplies for emergency cases, surgeries, and patients suffering from various medical conditions.
